Jennifer Coolidge has done it again with one of the best acceptance speeches at the Emmys. This time, The White Lotus star thanked ‘all the evil gays’ after her second consecutive win at the prestigious event.
Award shows can be stressful for the broadcasters and hosts who are attempting to stick to a strict time limit. There’s only a certain amount of time they have on air as the TV schedule is jam-packed. But it doesn’t always go to plan. Celebrities want ample time to thank all the people that helped them get to that spot – on the big stage, holding that award. When it came to Jennifer Coolidge at the Emmys, she was rushing to get her ‘thank you’s’ and inspiring moments in her speech. But it was the rude ‘interruptions’ that fans were getting sick of.
Jennifer Coolidge’s Emmys speech was ‘rudely interrupted’

The Legally Blonde actor has won the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category at the 75th annual event.
She joked she had to put the statue down because it was ‘too heavy’ to carry, and she doesn’t have the ‘strength’. Then Jennifer Coolidge referenced her speech last year when she won the same award at the Emmys.
“I got the hook last year, I talked too long,” she explained. “A giant hook comes along and takes you away.”
The actress attempted to sped through her gratitude, thanking producers and the people behind the show and joked her character was ‘definitely dead’ in the series so she knows she’s ‘not coming back’
Then she adds: “I want to thank all the evil gays,” which sees the audience erupt in laughter.
However, host Anthony Anderson had his mother in the audience as a ‘time-checker’. She stood up with a placard that had a clock with a ‘no’ sign over the top of it. She was seen tapping on the card and shaking her head.
Then Jennifer Coolidge carried on – she had a lot of people to thank for her Emmys – but Anderson’s mom continues.
She says: “Baby, I love you, but time,” continuously repeating herself and tapping on the card.
We then see the two stars who presented the award category, Sopranos actors Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli are quickly shown on screen. With fans saying Imperioli is ‘shaking his head’ at Anderson’s mother’s interruptions.
‘Let her finish – so rude’
Fans were outraged on Twitter, and echoed thoughts that Jennifer Coolidge’s speech at the Emmys was interrupted too much. They felt the celebrity had every right to finish off her gratitude after winning the impressive award.
